Slate roof restored in Upper Arlington,Ohio. Slate roof cleaning with steam
The customer had this new front walk installed with stone walls and it made the house look really bad. They hired us to clean and repair the slate roof, clean the stone and stucco. There were a lot of broken slates on the rear and about ten on the front side. We did the replacements and cleaned the slate with water at the level of steam, no chemicals were used at all. The roof turned out great. The stone still had some discoloration within the stones. We recommended stopping at that point and let the sun's ultra violet rays take care of the remaining discoloration over the next year. The little bit that's left will be pulled out naturally by the ultra violet rays of the sun, instead of eating some of the stone away with acid. Over all, the stone looked a lot better.
